A Smart Meter system assists in measuring, collecting data, and analysing energy usage. The system communicates with a Meter Data Management system (MDM) via smart devices such as electricity meters, gas meters, heat meters, and water meters. Through this system our clients and their tenants will be able to measure utility consumption on a daily basis. Smart meters furthermore aid in reducing carbon emissions due to reduced individual energy usage through effective energy management. A typical smart meter setup includes metering hardware, communication network, meter data management system and associated software. The platform records, collects and stores interval data and interfaces with other platforms such as web-based customer portals.

Not only does a Smart Meter system have the ability to continually measure and transmit data, it also has numerous features to provide the end user with detailed information about their electricity supply such as date, time tariff total billing and energy consumption, including multi rate tariffs such as Time of Use tariffs. Power Factor, Maximum Demand and billing reset information is also available and recorded information can be accessed and viewed on a web-based customer interface. Additional notifications are also available for prepaid deposits, low balance and disconnections.
